Wrightsville Beach Parks & Rec learned Friday July 17, 2010 it has won a grant of $111,877. The grant, from N.C. Parks and Recreation Fund, pays 50-50 for local projects. Matching funds will come from the town's share of the 2006 county parks bond.

The bulk of the funds will be used for a new event stage and also for renovations of the tennis courts, a new basketball court and repairs to the parking lot. A bandshell is planned to replace the shelter overlooking the marsh.
