GHOSTLY GOINGS-ON AT BATTLESHIP NORTH CAROLINA

We are very lucky in Wilmington, NC to have the Battleship North Carolina moored right here.   This magnificent vessel participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific area of operations during her Active Service from 1941 to 1947.  She earned 15 battle stars for her service during those years.  With over 2000 men calling her "home" during WWII -- she was a city; with a hospital, tailor, movie theater, ice cream shop, butcher shop, post office and newspaper.                                                                                                                       Stories have been told for years that she is haunted.  There was even a book written by night watchman, Danny Bradshaw, about his ghostly encounters.  It makes for a great Halloween destination, but since ghosts (if you believe in them) don't only show up in October; enter, four cast members from the shows "Ghost Hunters" and "Ghost Hunters International" (SyFy Channel). They will be visiting the Battleship North Carolina on August 20, 2010 along with a local team, to conduct an investigation of the ghostly phenomenon that has been reported.  

What's neat about this?  Well, if you are so inclined, you can participate!  That's right, you can buy a ticket and attend a Meet and Greet, a Lecture and be there for the investigation.  Tickets are $100 and can be purchased only at this site.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Now, if you don't believe in ghosts, or just don't feel like hanging out all night for what may be a wild goose chase, you still need to see the Battleship North Carolina!  You need to hear the stories of the battles she fought and won; the stories of the men who lived on her during some of the fiercest fighting of WWII.  You need to see and touch history.  But, more importantly, you need to be touched by it.
